The story of Susie Salmon, when it starts to unveil before you, makes appointments, friends, family, hunger, sleep and even the phone ringing, seem uninteresting and less urgent. The 'bones' of the title in English are not Susie's remains, the little girl that tells the story after her death. They are the structure on which life is built. Another audacity was to put Susie Salmon in Heaven. Yes, up is where our main character goes. And down is where she looks, with attentive eyes, telling the story of her family, now traumatized, of how her murderer plans the details carefully not to be discovered, as the police have no clue about how to reach him. From there she tells that, for not adjusting to her early death, and somewhat bored with life in Heaven, decided to accompany how her family, friends and murderer continued their own lives after the tragedy.
