Sinopse: This Is The First Of Two Exhibitions Dedicated To The Pre-columbian Pieces Assigned On Loan To The Masp By Edith And Oscar Landmann (the Former President Of The São Paulo Biennial And Once The Honorary Consul General In Colombia), Which Arrived At The Museum In 2016, Where It Will Remain For A Period Of Ten Years. There Are 906 Pieces Including Textiles, Object Of This Show, Besides Ceramics And Metals. Over More Than Fifty Years, Oscar And Edith Landmann Have Assembled One Of The Most Representative Collections Of Pre-columbian Art In Brazil, Encompassing Objects Of Different Typologies, Produced In The Andes Between 1000 Bc And The 16th Century. Made By A Significant Variety Of Weaving Techniques Using Natural And Dyed Wool And Cotton Yarns, The Fabrics Exhibited Here Were Mostly Recovered From Burials Found In Archaeological Sites Located In The Most Arid Regions Of The Andean Pacific Coast Attributed To The Chavin, Siguas, Paracas, Nasca, Moche, Huari, Lambayeque, Chimu, Chancay, Inca And Ica Cultures, Which Occupied The Present Territories Of Peru And Bolivia Between Approximately 800 Bc And 1532 Ad.
